Thrillist Was Thrilled!

In a recent issue of the travel section of Thrillist, author Katy Spratte Joyce called out the wineries, restaurants, and accommodations she liked best in the North Willamette Valley. She described the Dundee Hills, where we are located, and said this about Holloran:

“... tiny Dundee is considered the heart of the Willamette scene… Drive into the hills looming over the town and down a seemingly sketchy gravel road to Holloran for this writer’s all-time favorite sauv blanc (so much apricot goodness). The label also produces multiple pinot noirs and rieslings from their pretty, private hilltop locale.”

Update on the Growing Season

Growing wine grapes presents different challenges every growing season. This year is no exception, starting with the most widespread frost event in the Willamette Valley since 1980. The frost was followed by a very wet, cold spring, stalling growth in April, May, and early June, which delayed flowering 3-4 weeks later than usual.
