Our Vineyards

Wine grapes, unique soils and careful farming

HVW is fortunate to farm and harvest grapes from our own premium vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Each site possesses unique characteristics that influence the style, tastes and aromas in the wines from that location. We sometimes purchase grapes from other top sites in the Valley. Our current planted acreage is 34.

Le Pavillon Vineyard    Dundee, Oregon

Our oldest site, planted between 1972 & 1974. Located in the Red Hills of Dundee, Le Pavillon has volcanic soils (Jory) planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling & Pinot Gris.

The AVA is Dundee Hills, elevation 580' to 680', primarily south facing.

Le Chenaie   Rickreall, Oregon

Located near Salem, Oregon, in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, Le Chenaie is a 73 acre site with 16 acres under vine. Here we grow Pinot Noir, Riesling, Tempranillo and Chardonnay. We planted this vineyard beginning in 2001, and the soils are volcanic - Jory, Gelderman and Ritner. Elevations are 460' to 585', with aspects of South, Southeast and Southwest. The ocean breezes from the Van Duzer corridor in the coastal range influence this site as with much of the western portion of the Eola-Amity Hills.

Meute de Chiens   Estate Vineyard

Meute de Chiens translated means "pack of dogs". We have fondly named this vineyard for the canine family members that help us farm it. It is our smallest site and is planted in Pinot Noir. Years planted: 1999 - 2003. Volcanic soils with elevations ranging from 645' to 690'.
